Eugene J. La Neve, Esquire
Eugene (Gene) J. La Neve has an unusual background. Prior to becoming a product of the Elder Law College, Mr. LaNeve came from an extensive background in a number of disciplines.
Mr. La Neve graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in business administration. He then rose through the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of a Midwest multi-bank holding company to become the company's Director of Regulatory Compliance, while attending law school at the University of Toledo College of Law. During his final year of law school, Mr. La Neve completed his remaining courses at the University of Miami School of Law.
Upon earning his Juris Doctorate of Law, Mr. LaNeve remained in Miami where he practiced state and federal litigation and business law for four years at a boutique firm in Coral Gables. In 2005, Mr. LaNeve joined a firm in Ft. Lauderdale where he then became a partner two years later, the firm thereby taking the name, Golden & La Neve. Mr. La Neve added probate/estate administration, estate planning, construction and bankruptcy law, to his areas of practice and remained at Golden & La Neve until 2015, at which time he returned to Miami, the city for which he holds a special place in his heart.
Mr. La Neve is now a sole practitioner at La Neve Law, P.A., located in downtown Dadeland. He, his wife, and two children reside in Palmetto Bay. Mr. LaNeve has a broad range of experience working with various not-for-profit organizations and devotes time to church and charitable activities.
Mr. La Neve previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of Florida Lawyers Legal Insurance Corporation, a prepaid legal insurance company. One of Mr. La Neve's most cherished experiences was ministry to the elderly and shut-ins, volunteer work as a guardian ad-litem, and various ministries to the homeless, including writing grants for nonprofit agencies that provide shelter and aid to the homeless.
Mr. La Neve believes that these interests and experience provided the conduit for a natural progression toward the practice of elder law. Mr. La Neve became a member and graduate of the Elder Law College, which is led by Scott Solkoff, a leading national expert in the field of elder law. Mr. La Neve now enjoys his added legal representation of the elderly, the disabled, and their caregivers.
